Community Safety Partnership  and Environment

Your Labour Becontree Ward Councillors regularly attend the Safer Neighbourhood Police Team meetings at St. Thomas Church to review and decide on the crime and ASB reports from the local Police and the Council’s ASB Teams. In consultation with the local community, we agree with the Police the priorities for individual streets i.e, dealing with car crime, drug dealing or ASB.

The Becontree Ward Councillors  regularly carry out joint walk-abouts with the local Council officers and the Police to identify areas for improvement. In this regard we arranged for the provision of additional litter bins for residents in Green Lane Shopping Parade and Haydon Road.

Recently the Becontree Ward Councillors worked in partnership with the Council Officers and the local Police to satisfactorily deal with complaints of ASB in Gainsborough and Butler Roads.

In Stevens Road area we resolved in partnership with the Redbridge Council the complaints of overgrown Cherry trees in Goodmayes Park which were causing safety and security issues for the residents.
